Carpet Pad Replacement in Belzoni, MS

Carpet Pad Replacement in Belzoni, MS

Carpet pad replacement is part of almost every wet carpet drying job we run in Belzoni, MS. The carpet on top can often be saved. The pad under it usually cannot. Most residential pad is bonded urethane foam, which is basically a sponge made of scrap foam. It soaks up water, holds it against the subfloor, and breaks down when it dries.

Wet pad also traps contamination. Even clean water picks up dust, pet dander and whatever was sitting in the carpet. Once that sits warm and damp for a day or two, you get odor and the start of mould growth. Drying the pad in place rarely gets it back to normal.

Here is how Belzoni, MS Wet Carpet Drying handles carpet pad replacement in Belzoni, MS. We extract the carpet, pull it back off the tack strip, cut out the wet pad in sections and bag it. Then we dry the exposed subfloor with air movers and a dehumidifier and check it with a moisture meter. Once the floor reads dry, we lay new pad of matching thickness and density, then re-stretch the carpet back onto the strip.

New pad under dried carpet is how most carpet water damage restoration jobs end. Call (833) 606-3282 to book carpet pad replacement with Belzoni, MS Wet Carpet Drying.
